Fenton Hazelwood joined WestAg in March 2025, bringing 30 years of experience in the Food and Fibre sector.
What sets Fenton apart isn’t just his industry knowledge. He also has a deep respect for growers and farmers, a no-nonsense approach to solving problems, and a genuine passion for helping people thrive on the land.
Fenton has spent 3 decades working across the seed, agrichemical, and food and fibre production sectors. From large-scale multinationals to locally focused ventures, he's seen the good, the bad, and the bureaucratic. At WestAg, he’s found a team that shares his belief in doing things differently - cutting through red tape, staying independent, and putting the grower and farmer first.
Fenton has built strong relationships by listening first and then acting. He understands that trust is earned, not assumed, and real solutions come from the paddock, not the boardroom.
With WestAg, Fenton is focused on making input supply smarter, more transparent, and aligned with what matters: productive, profitable, and sustainable farming. He’s also a fierce advocate for innovation that actually works for growers and farmers, not just for headlines or shareholder reports.
Off the clock, Fenton’s mind stays just as active. Whether it’s photographing New Zealand’s rural landscapes and people from the saddle of a bicycle or digging into the latest global ag trends, he’s driven by curiosity and connection. And yes, he’s also not afraid to call out the nonsense when he sees it.
His vision for WestAg? Keep it local, stay honest, and back the people who grow our future. It’s not about being the biggest. It’s about being the most trusted.
